Garin D. Clyma, Esq.
Attorney / Owner
Garin Clyma has been with the firm since 2011, and took over the practice in 2021, when Mr. Gibbons stepped down. He focuses on assisting his clients in the areas of estate and business planning, probate and trust administration. Garin is dedicated to listening to the unique needs of his clients in order to provide exceptional service to clients, young and old. A graduate of U.C. Santa Barbara (Ole Gauchos!), Garin earned his J.D. at Lincoln Law School of Sacramento. Garin is a member of the Sacramento Estate Planning Council and the Placer County Bar Association. He is also a member the Trust and Estates Section of the California Bar.
Garin lives in Lincoln, but is an avid bay area sports fan. In his free time, Garin is an avid hunter and sport shooter. He, his wife, and three young daughters enjoy hiking, skiing, gardening, and spending nights camping under the stars.
Kimberly A. Dunn
Sr. Paralegal / Office Manager
Kimberly is the Sr. Paralegal and Office Manager for Gibbons & Clyma, Inc. She has been dedicated to assisting the firms clients and attorneys since 2015. Kimberly has a considerable background in the mortgage and financial industry, which allows her to bring an extra level of service to the firm. She is also the owner of a successful photography business.
When not at work, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her husband and their four children. She and her family enjoy traveling, hiking, camping, DIY projects and relaxing at the beach.
Kevin R. Cotter
Jr. Paralegal
Kevin is now our Jr. Paralegal having joined our team in 2020 as a part-time legal assistant. He is a recent graduate of Sacramento State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. When not at work or studying, Kevin enjoys hiking, roller skating, disc golf and football. He is a total foodie who also has an appetite for all things car related. Go NINERS!
Aleyna D. Camacho
Legal Assistant
Aleyna joined our team in 2023, and is now our part-time legal assistant. She earned her bachelor’s degree in history at UCLA, and is now excited to grow her career in the legal field. In Aleyna’s free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and attending as many concerts and festivals as she can. Aleyna is always ready for the next fun and spontaneous adventure!
About Our Founder
Phillip E. Gibbons
Founder / Retired
Phillip Gibbons founded Gibbons & Clyma, Inc. (then Phillip E. Gibbons, Inc.) in 1975, beginning a legal career lasting more than forty years. His career began with the IRS, which has afforded him a very unique background and invaluable experience with tax planning expertise in structuring Estate Plans. Phillip earned his Juris Doctor from the McGeorge School of Law, as well as his CPA license and certification as a California State Bar Certified Specialist in Taxation. He was the only certified tax specialist in Placer County for many years.
After many years of practice, Phil is finally getting the opportunity to enjoy more traveling. Phil is an avid golfer and enjoys spending his free time out on the golf course.
